Master - Chapter Ten

Unspoken Words

Dave stands before the iron gates of an old cemetry, holding a copy of his novel "Master" by his heart, with his heartbeat fluctuating, as he is in a complete nostalgia.

He could hear his vibrating heartbeat and his mind was blank. He could not decide whether to go inside the cemetry and pay Paul a visit or not. A cool breeze came the way of Dave and he suddenly gave in to a memory.

Dave is sitting with Paul at a restaurant. They are waiting for the food to arrive. Paul talks about his philosophy and asks Dave for ideas for his upcoming book. That's right, Paul was also a writer and Dave mostly inhereted the writing skills from his Master.

"What should I write about, man? I've written so many stories and novels that I can't even figure out how to continue."

"Write about spirituality for a change."

"Hahahaaha! I'd love to, but my readers won't understand it."

"I thought you never wrote for the readers. You said that you write for yourself."

"Yeah, but I'm kinda thinking of making this book a bestseller."

The waiter arrives with the food, places it on the table and Paul starts sipping the wine the waiter presented to him. Like always, he would sniff the wine before taking a sip.

Dave proceeded to have a sip too, and they started talking about life in general. Dave was always interested in Paul's work and saw him as an idol.

"I'm planning on writing a book too.", says Dave.

"I would love to read it."

"But I have a lot of things going on in my mind right now. I have a lot of ideas. Don't know where to begin."

"Just start writing and the ideas will follow you."

Suddenly, Dave's memory faded and he wept, thinking of his Master. He decided to go inside the cemetry.

"Its Been Five Years Now" said Dave.
