Chapter Nine (Part Two)

A book within a book (second part)

When Dave and Amy Meet for the First Time

The first semester is about to end. A new student entered the class. He's a tall, smart and handsome man.

Judging from the looks and his manner of walking, he seemed young.
His name was Dave (our main Character).

The woman looking at him was Amy. This chapter will be about how they meet and how their love story starts.
Dave enters the classroom and walks over to the closest possible seat on the last row.

"Sit next to me.", says Amy
"Fine", says Dave.
This was their first interaction.
The class was Psychology101 and Dave had a plethora of questions about the University and his fellow students in particular.

Dave and Amy got acquainted, sharing pleasentaries.
"Why'd you join us so late, Dave?"
"Let's just say that I got my credits transferred from an international college."

Dave was a former student of Harvard University and his father passed away so he had to get his credit transferred over to France, where his grandmother lived.
Dave was 21 at that time. So was Amy.
He then shows Amy some pieces of his literature.

After reading a few, both of them start to share their own written manuscripts with each other.
Both of them loved writing literature for the sake of writing and for people to read them.

"I am always asked by people why I write, do you know what I tell them?"
"It's easy money, right?"

"No, I write so that people can read."
"Well, isn't that the Universal reason behind people writing stuff?"

"It is, but writing is a tool that I use to escape reality, at least for some moments.
I know that I can't actually escape it, but I write to freeze time, and savour the moment."
"Have you tried writing Poetry instead?"

Dave shuts his laptop down all of a sudden and tells Amy not to look at his unfinished pieces of writings again.

"Why use our own name while writing?"
"I don't want to talk about it right now. I'll tell you once I finish my novel."

"You know you can never complete it. Just stop trying--"
"And do what, Amy? Tell me please?"

"Visit his grave for once. And you will be able to face this reality that your Master is dead."
"Only if I knew where he's buried..."

"You know where to find him and how"
I don't actually know, Dave thought.

Dave knew about his master's grave. But there was something that was stopping him from going on. What would that be?
Read the next chapter to find out!

Leaving a quote behind this time for my readers from none other than my inspiration.

“God only allows us to see such things when he wants something to change”

- Paulo Coelho, Aleph
